Disney's Beauty and the Beast - auditions

Auditions for the show will be held at Castle End Mission, St Peter's Street, Cambridge, at the following times:

Friday 23 October, 7–10pm
Saturday 24 October, 2–8pm
Sunday 25 October, 10am–6pm

Those auditioning will be asked to do the following:

  • A prepared piece of dialogue, provided in advance (for copyright reasons this will not be an extract from the show).

  • A song of you own choice. It may, but need not, be a song from the show, and should be of an appropriate style for the part you are auditioning for. You may also be asked to sing some scales or other vocal exercises to test your vocal range.

  • A short section of dance, taught to you on the day in a small group.

We will be giving further details soon, including a detailed list of characters and how you can book a slot for your audition.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast - production team

We're delighted to announce the production team for Beauty and the Beast:

Director: Sarah Phelps
Musical director: Andrew Taylor
Choreographer: Rachel Bye
Stage director: Alan Hay

We're also putting together the technical team that is needed for this challenging show, and hope to announce the names shortly.

PIED PIPERS SHOW 2010

After much deliberation and researching Pied Pipers have chosen as their show for 2010 Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. This show will not be released for amateurs until February 2010 and is currently still on its professional run. This is a very exciting show for Pied Pipers to be doing and will require much effort, particularly on the costume and technical side, to produce a first class show of which we can be proud.
The dates of the show are 30th March to 3rd April 2010. Main rehearsals will commence in January, but it is anticipated that there will probably be some introductory rehearsals in December.
Auditions will hopefully be in October. Please watch this newsletter for information.
