Meet the choreographer...

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

The Pied Pipers are delighted to announce the return of Emma Olley as our choreographer for Grease!

Emma began dancing at the age of 4, and achieved Advanced 2 Modern Theatre and Tap with the ISTD, and Advanced 1 Ballet with the ISTD and RAD. She then gained a science degree at Durham University – but just couldn’t keep away from dancing!

So she trained as a dance teacher at King Slocombe School of Dance, Cambridge. She completed her ISTD Diploma in Dance Education in 2014, specialising in Modern Theatre and Tap, and the RAD Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies in 2016, specialising in ballet. Now, Emma currently teaches full-time students at Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Emma also has a history of Musical Theatre choreography here in Cambridge, including Follies in 2013 and Guys & Dolls in 2014, both of which were Pied Pipers productions at the ADC Theatre; CAOS production of Sister Act in 2015 at The Cambridge Arts Theatre; and CTC's Spamalot in 2016 (ADC Theatre) and their youth production of Les Miserables in 2017 (Leys Great Hall).

So she has literally gone from Rock(ing the boat) to Roll(ing a stone) – and we're hugely excited she'll now get to combine both in the raunchy but passionate spectacle that is our 2020 production, Grease!
