Idiotic Characters

On this page you'll find a list of characters, including the musical numbers they are involved with – all of which are classic & iconic Green Day tracks.

There is a great amount of ensemble work in this show, along with a number of named parts not listed below who have solo lines in many of the songs. These roles are incredibly important, and there's something for anyone with an interest in musical theatre and/or punk rock!

Johnny

– the guy who goes to the city: the Jesus of Suburbia.

Tunny

– the guy who goes to the city and the Middle East.

Sings in: American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Are We the Waiting, Give Me Novacaine, Before the Lobotomy, Extraordinary Girl, 21 Guns, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Homecoming Medley.


Will

– the guy that stays home in suburbia.

St. Jimmy

Director's Note: This part may be male or female.

– a city badass. Johnny’s alter ego.

Heather

– a girl in suburbia. Will's girlfriend.

Whatsername

– a girl in the city.

– a girl in the Middle East.

Favorite Son
