Annual General meeting 2020
This Year's AGM will be a ZOOM meeting, planned for Wednesday, 12th August.
All Members and and friends are welcome!
What Happens at the Pied Pipers AGM?
The AGM is our yearly opportunity for Club members to have their say on how the Club is run. After reports from the Business Manager, Producer and Treasurer, members are invited to comment, question, and/or raise concerns about any matter of the Club’s business.
Included within this is the election of the new Club Committee, and the presentation of the Martin Steele Award and/or Lifelong Memberships to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Club.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 current guidelines on social distancing, it is not possible to have our usual social gathering, but the Committee hopes that many of you will be able to join us via Zoom. More details of the exact arrangements will be available soon, so keep that date open!
An Agenda, the Minutes of the AGM in 2019, copies of the various reports, where available, and a list of Committee nominations will be sent out prior to the AGM.
We look forward to seeing you!
Please Consider coming on to the Committee - the Pied Pipers need you!
Your Committee will be elected at the AGM, and we are seeking nominations for all Committee positions. By being on the Committee you will help shape the future of the club, including selecting our forthcoming shows.
The Club runs more efficiently if all positions on the Committee are filled, so please could we encourage you to not only complete a nomination form, but also consider being nominated for a position on the Committee. If there is more than one nomination for any position, there will be a ballot at the AGM.
Your current Committee is:
Chairman Madeline Harmer
Secretary Jo Grantham
Treasurer Andrew Taylor
Business Manager Vacant
Publicity Manager Megan Stickler
Social Secretary Emma Harpley
General Member Tom Greenhalgh
General Member Lucy Rycroft-Smith
This Committee stands down on Wednesday 12 August. Lucy will not be seeking re-election and Megan will not stand again as Publicity Manager.
For each nomination we need either the nominee’s signature or the nominee should return the form to us to indicate their willingness to stand. I would be grateful if the completed form could be returned to me by midnight on Friday 31 July. If (and only if) no nominations have been received for a Committee post by the closing date, then nominations can be accepted at the AGM. If you have any questions about any of the Committee positions, please get in touch, and we will do our best to answer them.
You can use the forms linked at the bottom of this page, and one of them is an online form - very easy!
These are particularly challenging times for theatre and may remain so for some time to come. The Club therefore needs a full Committee to work on future plans. We have realised that, in this digital age, the role of Publicity Manager has grown, so we would invite members to think about their skills/interests as part of a working group, e.g. Social Media, Website management. So, if anyone out there has any ideas of ways they might contribute, we would love to hear from you.
Here is a pdf fle of the Nomination Form, which you can print out and fill in if you wish to do it the old fashioned way!
Here is an online version of the form which you can fill in and submit to us online.
